WORK TO RESIDENCE

  • Talent (Accredited Employers)
    Successful applicants must have held a Talent Work Visa or Permit for at least 24 months and be aged under 55 years of age. The principal applicant is not required to meet any English language requirement however their partner and children over age of 17 will be required to meet the English language criteria.
  • Talent (Arts, Culture and Sports)
    Successful applicants must be 55 years of age or under and have held a Talent Work Visa or permit for at least 24 months and is sponsored by a New Zealand organisation of national repute. The sponsorship must include a signed undertaking from an eligible New Zealand resident or citizen personally guaranteeing to provide the applicant with accommodation and financial support during the first 24 months of their residence in New Zealand, should this be necessary.   • Long Term Skilled Shortage List Policy (LTSSL) and Talent (Accredited Employer) Policy
    Successful applicants must be 55 years of age or under and meet the necessary requirements in order to qualify under LTSSL and Talent Policy. Occupational registration requirements must be valid and the applicant must work for an accredited employer for at least 24 months. INZ has a minimum base salary requirement of $55,000 per annum depending on the date the Talent Work Visa/Permit was lodged.
  • Residence and Skilled Migrant Category (SMC) Most applicants qualify and apply under this category. This is a stream that is based on a point system along with health and character requirements.

FAMILY RESIDENCE

A family member who is already a New Zealand citizen or resident can sponsor you to come to New Zealand if you are there:

  • Partner – you are the husband, wife, defacto or civil union partner of a New Zealand citizen or resident.
  • Dependent child – you are a dependent child with a parent who is a New Zealand citizen or resident.
  • Parent – you have a child who is a New Zealand citizen or resident.

FAMILY TEMPORARY ENTRY

If you intend to stay temporarily with your family member who is a New Zealand citizen or resident, the kind of visa you need depends on what you want to do when you’re here.

  • Visit/holiday – there are categories for partners of New Zealand residents and/or citizens; culturally-arranged marriage; dependent children of New Zealand residents and/or citizens; parent and grandparent multiple entry visitor visa; or general visitors.
  • Work – for partners of New Zealand residents and/or citizens category.
  • Study – for partners and children of New Zealand residents and/or citizens category.

INVESTORS

People wishing to invest funds in a business and live in New Zealand can apply for residence under our Investor/Investor Plus categories, or apply for a visitor visa valid for up to two years under our Temporary Retirement Category.

ENTREPRENEURS

Entrepreneur Residence Category (2 years) If you have successfully established or purchased a business in New Zealand, you have been self-employed in that business for at least two years, and your business has benefited New Zealand significantly, you may be eligible for residence in New Zealand under the Entrepreneur Residence Category

  • Entrepreneur Residence Category (6 months)
